Common questions

These are the questions most people are likely to have first. You can expand each item below.

How does verification work in Realz?

Realz is designed to make it possible to verify that an image has not been altered after capture. The exact verification flow is tied to the Realz capture process and the availability of a public proof.

In practice, this means verification is based on more than how the image looks. It is based on whether the image was captured in a way that allows Realz to later confirm its integrity.

Why does the image need to be taken inside the Realz app?

The proof model depends on the original capture event. For that reason, verification is only possible when the image is captured directly inside Realz.

A photo imported from another camera roll or downloaded from somewhere else does not carry the same capture context, which means Realz cannot provide the same integrity guarantees for it.

What is a public cryptographic proof?

In simple terms, it is a technical proof linked to the original capture that can be used to validate whether the image still matches its original state.

“Public” means the proof can be checked through the Realz verification flow rather than only being visible to the original user privately.

Why does a verify link say invalid?

A verify link may be invalid if the proof identifier is missing, malformed, incomplete, or no longer resolves correctly in the verification flow.

If the issue continues, use the support form above and include the link you used if possible.

Where can I verify an image right now?

The verification service is available at getrealz.app.

Is the mobile app available yet?

Not yet. Realz is still under development for iPhone and Android. The website currently presents the product and the verification direction, while app availability will follow later.
